Event Details

Outside of Warsaw, Chicagoland has the world’s largest percentage of Poles. While the culture persists, much has been lost as assimilation and integration extends to third and fourth generations. Learn about the challenges of Polish immigration from the early 1800’s to the present, and discover the various centers of Polish and Polish-American culture. Enjoy a multimedia presentation by Donna Urbikas, author of the Midwest Book Award Finalist, My Sister’s Mother: A Memoir of War, Exile, and Stalin’s Siberia. A book signing follows Donna’s program.
