Bringing Nature Home: Video and Discussion

Event Type: Adult Program
Date: 5/9/2013
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:30 PM
Dr. Douglas Tallamy, author of Bringing Nature Home and Chair and professor of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, spoke recently in Bolingbrook and Elgin. His talk was recorded to be shown again. His premise is that we need the very native plants that are rapidly disappearing to support the whole web of life, including ultimately, our own. The positive side of this is that our own landscapes could make more difference than 20,000 acres of the largest national parks, if we just knew what these plants are and used them to beautify our yards.
Steven Windsor and Jan Smith of Wild Ones, Greater DuPage Chapter, will host this video presentation and will be available for discussion and to answer questions after the 70-minute film presentation.
