 Outside of Warsaw, Chicago has the worldís largest Polish population,
but as assimilation and integration extends to third and fourth
generations, much of that culture has been lost, mingled with others,or persists in the staunchest ways. Learn about the challenges of Polish immigration from the early 1800ís to the present, discover the various centers of Polish and Polish-American culture and some of the traditions of Polish culture. A multimedia presentation by former teacher and author Donna Urbikas who emigrated to Chicago as a child and grew up in the Polish community of the 1950ís and 1960ís, as highlighted in her recent memoir, My Sisterís Mother: A Memoir of War, Exile, and Stalinís Siberia.
