Join us to learn about plant basics: seed germination, soil health, plant structure, plant care and discuss the importance of the four primary plant growth factors. Individuals are invited to make their own mini-greenhouse using a plastic sandwich bag and potting soil to grow leaf lettuce, chive, cilantro or basil seed indoors. Herbs can be planted outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Or keep the herbs growing on a sunny windowsill until they are ready to harvest. Lettuce can also be transplanted outdoors in the spring or fall. A small lettuce crop can be harvested within about 6 weeks.
