Grades 4 & 5. Have fun with friends and a snack too! This month's theme is Homemade Fossils. Learn about fossils and make a few of your own.

For kids in grades K-4. Bring out your creative side with a fun craft! Registration is required. This month's theme is Painted Turtles.

Grades 3-5. Pick up a copy of Mockingbird by Kathryn Erskine at the Youth Services desk. Moms and dads or other adults are always invited (but not required) to come with their child to our book discussions.

Studies show that children who read regularly during the summer retain more of what they’ve learned during the school year. The goal of our summer reading program is to have fun while making reading a habit so that kids are ready to do their best at school in the fall.

Registration starts June 1 and is open to all ages -- even the little ones!. Sign up online at www.palosheightslibrary.org or in person.

The goal for every child is to read (or be read to) for 20 minutes five days each week. Starting June 10, kids can check in weekly, either online or at the Youth Services desk. Be sure to bring along your book log! Everyone who meets their weekly goal will receive a small prize, plus a chance to win something bigger. Starting July 15, all children who have met their six-week goal will receive a paperback book of their choice, entry into the Grand Prize Drawing, and more. Last day to check in is July 31.
