Music, Movement and Healthy Reading
Coach ScribbleJim and Coach ScribbleJayne of ScribbleMonster present Musical Fit Club:
A workout routine that targets the body and mind. Warm-ups begin with sharing songs and ideas
about fitness and healthy eating, followed by a few reps of page turning as ScribbleMonster
sings a favorite book. Children will receive a healthy dose of laughter and get the chance to
stretch their imaginations before finishing the workout with an all-out dance party! Musical Fit
Club targets physical skills with fine and gross motor movements, builds self-confidence, and
reinforces the positive aspects of exercise and nutrition through music and play.

Important Messages
Shake, rattle and roll into the library and join our Read to the Rhythm summer reading program! Pre-readers through children going into 5th grade can enjoy six weeks of programs and prizes for reading.

This summer, the goal for every child is to read (or be read to) for 20 minutes five days each week. Starting the week of June 15, kids who have read 100 minutes can check in, either online or at the library, to get a prize from our treasure chest.

Extra incentive: for every 100 minutes read, kids get a ticket for the grand prize drawing. So the more you read, the more chances you’ll have to win! The last day to check in is July 30; drawing winners announced August 3.

The Summer Reading Program and all events are open to everyone, free of charge. Please register for all programs unless they are specified as "drop-in." Space is limited in many programs; admission is not guaranteed unless you have previously registered. Please register online or call 708-448-1473.

You must register for each week's activity separately (registering for one activity does not automatically register you for each activity). Story Times are the exception--you register once for the whole six-week session.

Please note: the library may photograph or videotape program participants for library promotional purposes. If you do not want your image or your child's image published, notify library staff before or immediately following the program.
