 French scholar Tish Robinson illustrates what it meant to be fashionable in 19th century Paris. Paintings by Manet, Renoir, Monet and their colleagues portray trends of the period, indicating the importance of fashion and modernity.

This informative and entertaining program will complement the Art Institute of Chicago’s upcoming exhibition: Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity.
