 Mollie Schaffer was a member of Womenís Army Corps during WWII. Discover her experiences from basic training in Florida to the moment when the Statue of Liberty came into view upon her return in November 1945. Mollieís daughter, Cyndee Schaffer, created this presentation based on her motherís letters written during WWII. She will also discuss other WACs from Illinois, including two based at Camp Ellis in Fulton County who served as telephone operators for the Roosevelt-Churchill Conference.
